Confirmation Class
Confirmation is a public profession of faith. It is also called "affirmation of baptism" and is a public reaffirmation of one's faith.
Confirmation at Faith Lutheran Church is a two-year program for youth in the 7th grade and 8th grade. We use the "Here We Stand" curriculum by Augsburg Fortress, which covers Luther’s Small Catechism, the Old Testament, the New Testament, and the Lutheran Theology & Doctrine. We also cover the Ten Commandments, the Lord's Prayer, the Sacraments, and the Creeds.
The confirmation class is offered on Sundays parallel to Sunday school classes from
9:00 am - 9:30 am.
Expectations of Confirmands:
- Attend and participate in Sunday morning confirmation classes 9:15am - 10:15am
- Attend and participate in Worship regularly and summarize the Sunday sermon
- Participate in the life of the congregation (acolyte, social ministry, or other church programs)
- Attend and participate in Confirmation Events (Easter Breakfast & Service Events)
